SSC CGL 2026: Complete Strategy for Beginners
SSC CGL is one of India's most competitive government exams — but also one of the most crackable if you approach it systematically. Here's the 2026 roadmap.
Understand the Structure First
CGL has two tiers: Tier 1 (100 questions, 60 min) and Tier 2 (multiple papers). Tier 1 covers Reasoning, Quantitative, English, and General Awareness. Each section is equally important — don't neglect any.
Month-by-Month Plan
Months 1-2: Build foundations. NCERT Math up to Class 10, basic grammar rules, reasoning patterns. Don't practice mock tests yet — build the base first. Months 3-4: Topic-wise practice. One topic per day. Time yourself. Months 5-6: Full mock tests. Minimum 2 mocks per week. Analyze every wrong answer.
The Most Neglected Section
General Awareness decides ranks. Most students treat it as "GK to memorize." Wrong. Learn static GK systematically (history, polity, science) and follow current affairs daily. 30 minutes of current affairs every morning for 6 months will separate you from 80% of aspirants.
